As part of my journey to form new relationships, I signed up for a Meetup account in order to get out and have a reason to meet other people. The first event I joined was a meet and greet in Oakland to celebrate Oakland Art Murmur, which is otherwise known as First Fridays by the locals. First Fridays is a showcase of artists, artisans, and buskers with their live street performances. I didn’t really know what to expect but it was nice to leave the house knowing I was going to meet a group of people with interests similar to mine.I ended up having a great time conversing with new people and admiring the art and performances Oakland’s First Fridays had to offer.
