In 2015, I traveled to the island of Kauai with my mom and sister. I’d been there before but it was the first visit for both of them so I was excited to show them around.
We had one week to enjoy what Kauai had to offer and our first visit was to Kilaeua Light House.
We did the walking tour and spotted some wildlife like birds nesting in the cliff sides.
The following day we visited Hanapepe, inspiration for the town in Disney’s Lilo and Stitch where we crossed over the Swinging Bridge.
From Hanapepe we drove up through the winding roads to Waimea Canyon, Kauai’s own version of the Grand Canyon.
The next day was spent in Koloa Town and on the way there we drove through the Tunnel of Trees.
We also spent time in the North Shore of Kauai where we got shaved ice and Bubba Burgers which I definitely recommend to try.
Several days were spent at Kalapaki beach paddle boarding and getting lunch at Duke’s restaurant.
Altogether, it was a wonderful trip and something I would like to do again soon. See you again Kauai!
